Nairobi

is where the city meets the wild

Welcome to Nairobi

The Gateway to Kenya

Nairobi is Kenya’s capital and the starting point for most journeys in the country. Within the city you can see giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, orphaned elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and wildlife against a city skyline in Nairobi National Park. The Karen Blixen Museum, craft markets and some of East Africa’s best restaurants add to the stay.

We arrange private airport transfers, city stays and day trips, then link Nairobi to safaris in the Masai Mara, Amboseli and Laikipia or to beach time on the coast.

Things to do in Nairobi

Nairobi hotel stay: Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi five-star hotel

Visit the Giraffe Centre in Karen, where you can feed Rothschild’s giraffes by hand. Then drive through Nairobi National Park, where lions, rhinos and buffalo roam within sight of the city skyline. You can also meet orphaned baby elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust during its daily public visiting hour.

Best time to visit

Nairobi is pleasant all year because of its high altitude. The driest months run from June to October and from January to February, so those are the easiest times for game drives.

How to get there

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport connects Nairobi with Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Wilson Airport, on the other side of the city, also handles many domestic safari flights.
