Kilifi
is a quiet creek-side stretch of coast
Welcome to Kilifi
A Slower Pace on the Coast
Kilifi lies on Kenya’s coast between Mombasa and Malindi, around a wide tidal creek. It is a relaxed base with baobab trees, the Mnarani Ruins, quiet beaches and boating on the creek.
We can include Kilifi in a coastal route alongside Watamu, Malindi and Mombasa.
Things to do in Kilifi

Explore the Mnarani Ruins, which overlook the creek and include old mosques and tombs. Then relax on quiet beaches such as Bofa Beach. You can also sail or paddle on the creek, because the water stays calm.
Best time to visit
Dry, sunny weather runs from December to March and from July to October. Meanwhile, the long rains in April and May make the coast greener and quieter.
How to get there
Kilifi is roughly an hour from Mombasa along the main coastal highway, and Malindi is about an hour further north.
