Nakuru
is home to Kenya’s rhino and flamingo park
Welcome to Nakuru
Rhino, Giraffe and Flamingos
Lake Nakuru National Park surrounds a soda lake in the Rift Valley and is one of Kenya’s best places to see both black and white rhino. Rothschild’s giraffe, buffalo, lions and leopards live in the woodland and grassland, and flamingos can gather on the lake when water levels allow. Nakuru town and Menengai Crater are close by.
We pair Nakuru with Naivasha and the Masai Mara.
Things to do in Nakuru

Look for black and white rhinos, which both live in the park. Then see Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes and lions in the woodland. You can also climb to Baboon Cliff for sweeping views of the lake.
Best time to visit
June to October and January to February are the driest months. Therefore, roads are easier and wildlife is easier to spot.
How to get there
Nakuru is about three hours from Nairobi by road, and the park gate sits close to the town.
