Excursion Overview
Arabuko-Sokoke is a rare patch of coastal forest that is home to many bird species and other wildlife found nowhere else. A guided walk is the best way to see it, because the guides know where to look and how to find the shyest residents of the forest.

- Birdlife, butterflies and small forest wildlife, subject to sightings
- Choice of morning or afternoon walk
- Cool shade, quiet trails and a local guide
- Scheduled departures on Wednesday and Friday
- Meet your guide at 6 am or 3 pm
- Walk the forest trails
- Look for birds, butterflies and small wildlife
- Finish at about 10 am or 6:30 pm
What to Expect
You meet your guide at the forest and set off on foot along the trails. The guide points out trees, birds and other wildlife, and explains why the forest is so important.
Forest wildlife is shy, so sightings depend on the day and cannot be guaranteed. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to see birds.
The walk finishes at about 10 am or 6:30 pm depending on the time you choose. Wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and light long clothing, and bring insect repellent and drinking water. Contact our team to confirm availability and to book.
