Basecamp Samburu is a unique safari lodge offering front-row access to Kenya rare and endemic wildlife, including reticulated giraffe, Grevy zebra and the elusive gerenuk. Comfortable luxury tents suit travellers who want an authentic bush experience.

PPS means per person sharing a double or twin tent. PP means per person in single occupancy. Rates apply to East African residents and include game drives and airstrip transfers.

What to Expect
Basecamp Samburu brings an all-in ground package together at accessible rates. Game drives by day and night, bushwalks, bush meals and airstrip transfers are all included.
Rates move through three seasons, with the lowest in March to May and November. Families are well catered for with child rates and the Young Explorers Club.

Itinerary
Travel by road or air to the area and transfer to Basecamp Samburu. You are welcomed with refreshments, shown to your room and can enjoy an afternoon at leisure or an optional game drive.
Set out early for the morning game drive, when predators are most active, then return for a relaxed lunch and rest. An afternoon drive follows, finishing with dinner back at the lodge.
Spend another day exploring for elephants, Grevy zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. Ask our team about optional extras such as guided walks, cultural visits or special dining.
Enjoy a final breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip or begin the journey back to Nairobi. Your stay can be extended night by night.

Wildlife viewing is good year-round. June to October is the dry season and the best time for game viewing, while November to May is greener and quieter with lower rates.
You can travel by road from Nairobi, or fly to the nearest airstrip and be met for a transfer. We arrange either option together with your stay.
Where the rates are marked as resident rates, they apply to Kenya citizens and East African residents with valid proof of residency. If you are travelling as a non-resident, ask our team for a quote that matches your travel status.
Samburu National Reserve entry fees are not included and are paid separately. Our team can confirm the current fees for your dates.
Yes. Rates are priced per person per night, so you can stay as many nights as you like. Our team can also combine your stay with other destinations in Kenya.
