Itinerary
At the camp, each room is designed with its own private “meditation” area. Here one can unwind, meditate, read a novel or simply sit back and listen to the sounds of the river when in season. Designed in contemporary style with subtle hints of Africa, the rooms are very pleasant yet unobtrusive and elegant.
The rooms are spacious and offer beautiful views of raffia palms, yellow fever trees, and tamarinds while overlooking the river.
Meals at camp are tailored to gourmet delicacies with an Italian accent. Guests can choose to eat on the terrace of their rooms, by the pool or even in the Bush at any time – the choice is entirely yours.
The camp itself offers a swimming pool, a restaurant area, a well stocked bar as well as many activities for you to explore. Whether you choose to watch the African wildlife ; walk in the bush or lie in the sun, Rhino River Camp can indulge in your every whim.
Guests at Rhino River Camp have the opportunity to visit the Meru National Park which hosts large populations of elephants, hippos, lions, cheetahs and leopards as well as many other animals including more than 300 species of birds.
Nearby is the Meru Park Rhino Sanctuary, one of the few places that you can still see these spectacular animals.
Rhino River Camp offers a truly magical experience with its prime location on the edge of Meru National Park and its unique accommodation options. The camp’s expansive 60-acre privately owned wilderness provides a secluded and exclusive setting for guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.
The camp features a total of seven tents, with two situated in the enchanting forest and five positioned along the banks of the Seasonal Kindani River. These tents are constructed using caramel canvas and hardwood, exuding a sense of rustic elegance that blends harmoniously with the environment. The raised wooden platforms on which the tents are situated offer guests the opportunity to observe the tranquil flow of the Kindani River when in season, further enhancing the serene ambiance of the camp.
As a base for exploring Meru National Park, Rhino River Camp is ideally located. Meru National Park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including Africa’s famous “Big Five” animals: elephants, lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, and buffaloes. Guests have excellent opportunities to spot these magnificent creatures and witness the awe-inspiring beauty of the African savannah.
Whether you choose to stay in the forest tents or the riverside tents, your experience at Rhino River Camp will be nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of the camp’s idyllic location, the unique design of the tents, and the proximity to Meru National Park creates a truly magical atmosphere that immerses guests in the wonders of nature.
